2 ounces of Gin
5 ounces of tonic water
slice of lime
Fill a tumbler or highball glass with ice. Add gin and tonic water. Stir. Garnish with a wedge of lime. Now that was easy, wasn’t it?
Tonic water contains a small amount of quinine, originally a preventative measure against malaria, and adds a nice bitter not to the gin drink. But tonic water is also sweetened with sugar, countering the bitter. Some people who prefer the bitterness of gin, may find the tonic too cloying, and might opt for a gin and seltzer, instead.
