Bennett Cocktail

This cocktail originally called for Old Tom Gin, which is difficult to find these days.  Though once upon a time there were a number of drinks that used this slightly sweeter, column-still produced gin.  The best bet these days is to add a tad of simple syrup to Tanqueray gin, to reproduce the taste.

2 Ounces of Tanqueray Gin
